Show Me, Don't Tell Me!

This is an exert from Amira's writing exercise in class. The task is to tell a statement by recording some details and let your partner guess how you may feel by using clues:

"Mmmmm - my mom?" asked Jenny in a shivering voice. She could hear her heart thudding against her chest. Her mouth was opening and closing but no sound came out. Jenny's teeth started chattering and her body was shaking. She knew she wouldn't get out of it this time...

Amira was trying to describe the emotion of being SCARED.

Charcoal, a sad short poem

Charcoal is my dog.
A cute little lad.
Food - he'll be good.
Spank - he'll be bad.

I loved him so much,
From tail to head,
but now I can't see him,
he's already dead.

My Feelings for my Brother, A short poem

My feelings for my brother,
can change quite a lot.
Sometimes I am feeling blue,
and sometimes very hot.

Sometimes I will yell at him,
and make a very big fit.
But as you know how mad I am,
I don't kick nor hit.

Sometimes I will look at him
for something he had said,
then I will slowly slump upstairs,
and cry in my small bed.

Sometimes I will go all white,
as my eyes go wider and wide.
Sometimes I will turn with fright,
and think of places to hide.

My feelings for my brother,
just isn't very same.
I'll just have to get on with it,
and play on with the game.
